Daniel Cardwell is an attorney at Roussos Law Group whose practice focuses on business law, corporate governance, and entrepreneurship. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cardwell served as outside counsel for various companies, from startups to established enterprises with over $17 million in annual revenue.
Mr. Cardwell’s commitment to education and service is evident in his extensive teaching experience. He has been affiliated with Hillsborough Community College for over a decade, teaching freshman English courses and serving in various roles across multiple campuses. His academic service led to the development of two new courses for the college’s catalog, focusing on public records research and career planning for undergraduates.
In addition to his work at HCC, Mr. Cardwell is a recurring adjunct professor at Cooley Law School, where he teaches courses on appellate advocacy and advanced legal writing, including business contract drafting.
Mr. Cardwell’s academic achievements are noteworthy. He graduated 9th in his class from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with numerous honors, including being named Student of the Year and receiving the Alumni Association’s Distinguished Student Award. His exceptional performance earned him induction into the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi (PDP). He received PDP’s highest honor, the International Graduate of the Year Award, which recognizes one outstanding law student annually across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and Poland.
During his law school career, Mr. Cardwell gained valuable experience through judicial externships and internships, including positions with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Second District Court of Appeal for the State of Florida. He also interned with the U.S. Department of Justice in the U.S. Trustee’s Program, further honing his legal research and writing skills.
